The most useful retailer is the one that explains the dimensions you need for the item you are considering. A large range or a familiar size label cannot substitute for that information. Start with the garment, then the brand, then the chart’s measuring basis.
The same label can describe a different range
These selected examples were checked on 4 November 2026. They illustrate why copying a size from one brand to another can mislead; they are not a table of equivalent sizes or a statement of stock.
| Chart | XL chest | 1XL chest |
|---|---|---|
| Jacamo / Snowdonia tops and jackets | 45–47 in | 48–50 in |
| BadRhino casual tops | 44–47 in | 47–50 in |
Use the exact category and brand section. A retailer selling several labels may host several charts on one page. Where ranges meet or overlap, read the product’s fit advice and ask the seller if you are uncertain; a boundary number does not prove that two labels will feel the same.
Choose the kind of evidence you need
- For a larger chest or waist: look for a relevant body or to-fit range, plus information about the cut. A bigger label alone does not tell you the garment’s shape.
- For extra length: look for a stated body, sleeve or inside-leg measurement. Tall should not be used as a synonym for wider.
- For comparison with something you own: an actual garment measurement can be helpful, provided you reproduce the same measuring method.
2tall describes a tall slim/athletic focus and publishes garment measurements taken flat. That is a different starting point from assuming every tall range is also a big range. Choose the information that answers your own proportion question.
Open the product-specific guide
On Jacamo, the official help page points shoppers to the Size Guide beside an item’s size controls and any Buying Guide on the product page. Follow that route before relying on a general chart saved months ago. On any retailer, confirm the guide belongs to the actual brand and garment, not simply the shop selling it.
Record the label, units, measurement basis and checked date together. If a chart contains an implausible value, a reversed range or an unexplained conversion, stop and request clarification. An official-looking table can still contain an error.
Separate research coverage from shopping coverage
We can discuss a useful retailer chart without having an affiliate relationship or a current offer from that retailer. A chart’s largest size is not evidence that every item is sold in that size. The finder should be read at the level of the listed product and qualifying offer.
For a purchase shortlist, compare the actual garment, the return conditions and the delivery shown for your location. Keep your preferred size label, but be willing to remeasure when the brand or fit changes.
Make your measurement note first, then open the men’s clothing finder.
